Bia Cultures

Bia Cultures is a Monaghan based brand that makes a large variety of fermented products such as Kimchi & Sauerkraut (amongst many other delicious options).

Owners Laura and Rory have a personal affinity for a willow tree and wanted to incorporate that into the brand, and behind this tree is a sun that contains a spiral that was historically used as a celtic symbol - a tie to Irishness that was nice to include given the brand name containing a bit of Gaeilge, and also gives a dual meaning to the word ‘culture’.

I created a brand identity for them that included the usual suite of logo, colours, & type system, but also a collection of labels for each of their products. Each of the products has its own colour, and on each label the sun changes to reflect this colour.

Since this initial brand build, I have gone on to design some promotional material which and some merch designs, both containing bespoke illustrated artwork.

The brand has gone on to achieve great success, now being stocked in shops all across Ireland, and you should definitely grab some of their offerings if you can, tasty as feck and good for your gut!
