Other Land is a beautifully shot short film by Alice Ward that features surfing from Aussie surfer Vittoria Farmer. I designed two posters for the film - a main poster and an alternate - along with an animated versions of both that were used to promote the film on social media. A format which proved very popular.

The main poster is a minimal scene, with Vittoria observing the sea from a rocky outcrop, while two shapes containing some textures from the film (coastal rock and raging sea) hang above, the negative space of which form a wave.

The minimal direction suited the tone of the film, there isn’t a huge amount of dialogue, Vittoria’s surfing and Alice’s beautiful shots of the Irish West coast doing the bulk of the storytelling, backed up by some amazing music from Irish artists.
