The process of laying out and designing the cover (and other graphic assets) for The Stone Fiddle was one I found extremely rewarding. The author, Paddy Tunney, is a well known singer and seanchaí in the Irish folk music scene. His son, John Tunney, wanted to republish his father’s first book, which was first published in 1979, with an updated intro and with the inclusion of maps of the areas mentioned in the book. I absolutely loved diving into this world, and even travelled to the site of the house where Paddy first lived as a boy in order to capture some imagery, which I used for the books artwork.
